Jason Biondi

Principal - Managing Director of ECSG

Jason founded Energy Cost Solutions Group (ECSG) in 2009, a business which targets new construction and existing buildings through energy savings, commissioning, minimizing environmental impacts of construction, operations and maintenance and improving indoor environmental conditions. ECSG is currently involved with projects pursuing LEED New Construction, Core & Shell, Commercial Interiors and Existing Buildings Certification as well as National Association of Home Builders - Green Building Standard, Enterprise Green Communities Criteria and Green Globes certifications. ECSG also performs commercial energy audits and environmental impact analysis for Major Use Special Permits. Jason has personally worked to help certify more than 20 green buildings through out Florida and Latin America. Jason leads a team of experienced architects and engineers, who make up ECSGs' well balanced and effective green building certification machine.


Daniel J. Denis

Project Manager And Commissioning Agent

Daniel J. Denis is a Green Building Project Manager and Commissioning Agent at Energy Cost Solutions Group, LLC with over 10 years of experience in Engineering and Construction. Daniel is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) with Building Design & Construction (BD+C) specialty. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management degree from Florida International University. Daniel is a registered member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and has experience documenting compliance with LEED, Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), and National Green Building Standard (NGBS) rating systems. His specialties include sustainable design and consulting; heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sizing; and energy modeling.


Kuntal Thakker

Project Manager

Kuntal Thakker, Graduate of Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton, FL, as a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, May 2014, Kuntal has a deep interest and broad enthusiasm for sustainability and green building and thesis work in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency in existing buildings.


Gus Martinez

Head Engineer and Commissioning Agent

Gus Martinez – Chief Commissioning Agent - P.E, LEED AP. Along with his extensive mechanical design background, Gus Martinez is a firm believer in a sustainable future. Gus is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. He is also member of The Association of Energy Engineers where he has become a Certified Building Commissioning Professional. Gus is passionate about energy conservation, passive design, environmentally conscious building strategies, building commissioning and ongoing operations and maintenance. Gus thinks in terms of “generations in the future”. Gus Martinez has been providing Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services to a mix of public and private clients in Florida and Caribbean for over 30 years. In that time he has designed and commissioned a broad range of project sizes from multi-million dollar mechanical/electrical contracts to small renovation projects. Gus is the Senior Commissioning Agent at ECSG. Gus works on preliminary drawing reviews and has a keen eye for finding opportunities to improve building performance and operations. Working with Owners and designers, Gus uses an Owners Project Requirements document and Basis of Design to develop and implement a thorough commissioning program. Gus leads the commissioning effort by drafting commissioning plans and creating pre-functional and functional testing protocol. His field work includes observing performance testing, training and ASHRAE Audits. As the Senior Commissioning Engineer, Gus is responsible for all phases of commissioning administration, Energy Modeling and Energy Audits, Project Management, Design review, Client Relations, Operations and Maintenance Training and managing field agents. Gus has been with ECSG since 2010.
